Meet Woofy CubCake Oliver “Ace” Davis!

CubCake Ace Davis

Hi Ace,
What does the term “Bear” mean to you?

“I’ve actually had a lot of discussions about this. I am a straight transgender man and I do not identify as a bear. However I do label myself as a pup. People seem to get very offended by this because they say that only gay men can claim that along with bear, cub, wolf, ect. But I disagree with that. I think a bear is someone who, regardless of sexual orientation, is of large stature, not necessarily tall, with tons of body hair, and is a kind person.”

Personal Statement: Hi, I’m Oliver, and I am asking for help. It’s not easy to talk about, but here goes.
I am a trans man. For those who don’t know what that is, I was assigned female at birth, but always internally felt like a man. Since I’ve medically transitioned to male I’m happier and more fulfilled. Every trans person takes their own path. No two paths are alike. For me, to feel best about myself in my body I need to take one more step on my path that requires additional surgery. So, I’m reaching out to anyone with a few extra bucks to spare to help me out. You may or may not know me, but I assure you any contribution, even a small one, will honestly mean I will be closer to being comfortable in my own skin. Nothing is more important than that, whether you’re trans or not. If you can help, you have my deepest gratitude. If you can share this page with others via social media, whether you can contribute or not, you also have my deepest gratitude. Be well, and know that I truly appreciate every penny raised by this personal fund.

Beefcake of the Week ~ Matthew from Chicago

Hi Matthew!
What does the term “Bear” mean to you?

“I think this is a fluid, changing term – but generally a hairy guy, can be bigger or more muscular. In my experience, most are friendly and fun-loving.”

What’s your idea of a perfect date?

“Dinner or drinks at a local restaurant. I like to get to know someone through conversation; an organic exchange of thoughts, opinions, likes and dislikes.”

How would you describe your personal interior design style?

“Warm, comfortable, lived-in. Pristine places are nice, but I want my guests to feel at home. Nothing is worse than being afraid to sit on someone’s couch! My walls and furniture are neutral; I change the look with things like pictures, pillows, art, flowers – subtle color in key places.”

What kind of music do you listen to?

“Varied! For the most part indie or euro-pop: Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service; Robyn; The xx; LCD Soundsystem; Peter Bjorn and John.”

Location: Chicago, IL

Height: 5’10”

Hair: Brown

Eyes: Green

Occupation: “Teacher and musician.”

Hobbies: “Travel as much as I can, and play softball during the summer. I love to cook and entertain at my place. Trying to stay in shape – although it’s mostly to counteract the aforementioned food and beverages!”

Guilty Pleasure Snack: “I love sour and chewy candy. Sour Patch Kids and Chewy Spree.”

TV Faves: “Mad Men, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Law and Order: SVU.”

Last good movie you saw: “I only go to movies once a year – on Christmas night with my sisters. This year was “American Hustle” – and I loved it.”

Currently Reading: “A James Patterson Novel – “Gone”

Turn Ons: “Confidence, intelligence. Being easygoing and adventurous. Lover of friends, family, and life.”

Turn Offs: “Arrogance, negativity. Smoking is a deal-breaker.”

Personal Statement: “I love the quotes “A person’s wound is where their passion is born” and “Not all those who wander are lost.” They speak to my motivations and passions, which include traveling and singing. I perform with an amazing ensemble, the Wicker Park Choral Singers. WPCS is a Chicago, all-volunteer, non-profit ensemble dedicated to building community through choral music.

Meet Woofy Beefcake Jorge from Madrid!

Hi Jorge!
How did your attraction to the Bear culture come about?

“When I started to feel sexual attraction for men, I thought I had some kind of problem, because the idea of TV and society made the concept of “gay” so different from the concept I had about myself. This made my new sexual orientation weirder also. When I realized I wasn’t the only one, and what I liked had a name, I was so happy. The name was bears. I was excited searching on google for ‘bears!”

What does the term “Bear” mean to you?

“For me it means everyone who identifies with “bear”. I am getting tired of hearing stuff like, ‘this guy thinks he is a bear, ha ha even if he’s not hairy,’ or ‘people think because they grow a beard that they are bears.’ Since the bear community is getting bigger and trendier, I see there is more discrimination between us. You see group of muscle bears who don’t want contact with other kinds of people. That is wrong. They are missing lots of nice people and they are making others feel bad.”

What’s your idea of a perfect date?

“I think the perfect date is a date that makes me so nervous because I don’t know if he likes me, and I am trying to find the way to kiss the guy. I am so romantic and I love the seduction, nervousness, and suspense. You know the date was perfect when you go home and realize you can’t sleep the night because you are so excited and you have a permanent idiot smile on your face.”

Location: Geneva and Madrid

Height: 6’5

Hair: Black

Eyes: Black

Sign: Capricorn

Fitness Routine: I workout five or six times a week.
-chest and calves
-back and abs
-legs and calves
-shoulders and calves
Around 5 exercises in 3 series of 9-12 reps. In 40′-45′ have finished.
The 80% is the diet. I eat between 6-8 times a day.

Occupation: Physiotherapist

Hobbies: “Cinema, novels, comics, sci-fi, gym, travel, videogames…”

Guilty Pleasure Snack: “I have a lot! But Nutella and Chocolate in general drive me crazy!!! Grrr!”

TV Faves: “I am a TV series lover. Probably ‘Six Feet Under’ and “Battlestar Galactica’ are my favorites. HBO series in general.”

Last good movie you saw: “The last good movie I watched was ‘Donnie Darko.’ It’s one of my favorite movies ever. Travels across time themes are one of my weaknesses.”

Currently Reading: “I am reading a trilogy about the life of Publio Cornelio Escipion the African. It is called ‘African Vs’ written by Santiago Posteguillo. I love historic novels.”

Turn Ons: “Masculinity, good smile, cute ears, muscled and beefy, good attitude without artificial poses, good kissers and cuddles.”

Turn Offs: “Bad breath, aggressive attitude, bad kissers, smoke smell, long hair, lies.”

Personal Statement: “I am nobody to give advice, but be aware of prejudices. So many times it makes us blind. It makes us lose a connection to lots of nice people who would give such nice moments. Because at first sight they may not be good looking enough, or not masculine or fat. Or also we miss people because we think he is good looking and he may be superficial, or muscled so they just think about proteins and gym. All of cases are so wrong.”
