H3K Design provides that “Palm Springs Look”

When our clients explained to us they didn’t live in a Mid Century Modern house but still wanted a “Palm Springs look,” we were up for the challenge! I had so much fun helping them transform their 1950’s Spanish Revival, including giving it a much-needed exterior makeover with paint and furnishings! I mixed in some MCM styles that worked easily with the rustic wood and Mexican tile. They are thrilled with the results and this Tahquitz River Estates charmer is now a popular vacation rental!

New exterior paint and enlisting a gardener’s help to spruce up the grounds helped give this 50’s Spanish Revival a fresh new attitude!
The house features 3 “living rooms” including this front parlor with the original fireplace.
It always amazes me how a fresh coat of white paint and fun art can instantly transform a drab place! A lot of these furnishings and art can be purchased through H3K Home
When designing vacation rentals, it always helps to throw in something fun that guests can play like this Foosball table!
I LOVE this photo of a young Clint Eastwood packing his “snakeskin” pants!
The back living room acts as a media room with the pool just outside.
This kitchen has a loft style quality to it, it really came alive with the injection of orange color!
One of the 2 master en-suites.
The back bedroom has so much outside light it seemed like a natural to use sunny, fresh yellows here!
The 3rd “living room” can also act as an impromptu guest room.
The back exterior walls used to be all a mustard color! A fresh coat of adobe white and terracotta trim created a lovely background for the sparkling pool and introduction of orange and white!
So much of TurnKey designing is creating special moments for guests to enjoy while they’re vacationing here!
When in doubt, always use a pagoda umbrella outside, LOL. It never fails to create instant glamour!
